The mission of the COMIZIA Care MTM Program is to promote education and assist with personal and career opportunities for adolescent single mothers in our community through individual mentoring partnerships.

The COMIZIA Care MTM program will provide positive adult role models to help restore self-esteem in our young mothers. MTM will assist young mothers by addressing the contributing factors that often leads to early parenthood. MTM hopes each mother will develop self-worth, independence and the ability to think her future goals are still attainable.

MTM is a community-based program. Young mothers will enter the program with a one-year commitment, starting with the first day with their mentor. Both parties will meet independently within the community upon availability and commit to engaging in relationship building, and any other activities both parties can agree.

MTM will use thirteen important steps to run and maintain a successful mentoring program . Each step will show that MTM is definitely heading in the right direction towards a bright future for our young mothers.

• Stress the importance of continuing their education.
• Monitor their academic performance from each quarter.
• Help build/ restore self-esteem within our young mothers.
• Ensure the compatibility of our young mothers and their mentor.
• Provide mentors that listen, encourage, are supportive, and not judgmental.
• Provide tools for encouragement, teach our young mothers how to set goals and help them find ways to accomplish them.
• Monitor, evaluate and address issue(s) relating to our young mothers and their mentor.
• Provide mandatory supervision and meetings with our young mothers and their mentor.
• Encourage loyalty between our young mothers & their mentor.
• Provide monthly evaluations on activities & progress.
• Provide mandatory training for our mentors.
• Provide monthly support groups (workshops) for our young mothers.
• Provide quarterly support groups for our mentor.
