Destination Success

Destination Success mentoring program seeks to motivate, cultivate, develop, inspire, and enhance the lives of at-risk teen males in single parent and blended family households by helping them to overcome negative behavioral actions.

Our Focus

Destination Success mentoring will focus on teen's males between the ages of 13 and 17 years of age from single parent or blended households.

Our Methods

We have scheduled meetings or events twice a month in order to build a bond and instill brotherhood among the youth and mentors. We employ proven methods of planned activities, group discussions, classes, and tutoring.

Destination Success utilizes a unique approach to group mentoring by customizing our activities to cater to the needs and interests of the youth in each group. This provides a means of identification and connectivity for the youth and the mentors. Planned activities include:

• Recreational Activities
• Community Service
• Career Site Visits
• Sporting Events
• Musical Events or Concerts
• Theater and Art

Each month, Destination Success will have a scheduled discussion to address life skills that will guide our youth, instill character, and develop moral responsibility and encourage individuality. These topics include: Career guidance, College preparation, Anger management, Peer pressure, Effectively dealing with authority, Peer pressure, Hygiene, Dating, Sex, Abstinence, and STDs.

Goals and Expectations:

• Be committed and consistent to the program.
• Communication with adults in charge on any issue, conflict, etc.
• Acknowledge, cooperate with and respect other mentees, as well as mentors.
• Demonstrate a considerate, friendly attitude toward those you encounter.
• While participating avoid disruptive behavior (arguing, fighting, profanity, etc)
